Privacy Policy
Last updated 7 October 2026
This explains what information Oppunity collects, why, and the choices you have. We collect as little as we need to run the service.
Who is responsible
Oppunity, a private company in Rwanda and a subsidiary of Sassuo Inc, decides how your information is used and is responsible for it. We handle personal data in line with the law of Rwanda on the protection of personal data and privacy.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address, and the name and photo you add.
- Your profile, if you fill it in: what you do, your stage, the country you live in, your nationality, your age range, your gender, sectors, goals, achievements and the types and regions you are interested in. We use these only to work out which opportunities you can apply for and how well they fit. Every one is optional.
- What you do on the site: listings you save and the AI searches you run, so we can show them in your dashboard, apply plan limits and improve results.
- Organizations: if you create or join one, its name, website, description and logo, who is on its team and their roles, and the listings it posts.
- Listing stats: when a listing is viewed or its apply button is clicked, we count it. We record the listing, the type of action, the date and a scrambled fingerprint that changes every day, used only so each visitor counts once a day. It can't be linked to you or across days.
- Links you send us: the link, any note, and whether it came from the site, Telegram or WhatsApp. If you message us without linking an account, we keep only a scrambled version of your chat id or phone number, to apply daily limits. If you link a Telegram chat we store its chat id; for WhatsApp we store only a scrambled version of your number.
- Email subscription: your email and the types, regions and audiences you pick for the weekly email.
- Technical data: a scrambled fingerprint of your IP address to prevent abuse of AI search. We do not store your raw IP address for this.
- Payments: handled entirely by Whop. We never see or store your card details. Whop tells us about your payments and membership so we can turn your plan on and off and keep accounting records.
How we use it
To run your account, plan and organizations, send the emails you asked for (sign in codes, the weekly email, deadline reminders, review results, team invites and receipts), personalize your matches, prevent abuse, and understand what people search for so we can add better listings. We do not sell your information or use it for third party advertising.
Who can see what
- Your profile, saves and searches are private to you. Our team can see them only to support you or fix problems.
- An organization's name, logo, website, description and listings are public.
- Team members of an organization can see each other's name, photo and email.
Services we use
We share only what each service needs to do its job:
- Supabase (database, file storage and sign in)
- Vercel (hosting)
- Resend (sending email)
- Google (sign in with Google, if you choose it)
- Google Gemini (AI search; your search text is sent to it, but not your email or profile)
- Whop (payments and subscriptions)
- Telegram and Meta (WhatsApp), only if you send us links through them
These services store and process data outside Rwanda, including in the European Union and the United States.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account exists. If you unsubscribe from emails, we delete your subscription. When you delete your account, we delete your profile, photo, saves and memberships straight away. We keep the reason you gave for leaving without your email, searches without any link to you, and payment records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Your rights
- Change or clear your profile, interests and email preferences at any time in your settings.
- Delete your account yourself from your settings.
- Unsubscribe from the weekly email with the link in any email.
- Ask us for a copy of your data, or to correct it, or object to how we use it, by emailing info@oppunity.com. We reply within 30 days.
Children
Oppunity is not meant for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will tell you by email or on the site.
